Top 10 Kids Movies

The Princes love movies.

Over the years we have accumulated hundreds of DVDs and most evenings the Hubby and I sit and watch something. The boys enjoy sitting in our 'movie room' munching on popcorn while their favourite movie plays. They love it even more when their friends visit for movie night.

That's what they're doing this evening. The Hubby is in South Korea and I've invited a friend and her girls to visit. The boys are so excited they were up at 6.30am and chose the movie: Frozen.

Frozen has become a favourite of all young girls and Little Prince, being the gentleman, decided that's the best choice. He's not as keen on it but because his friend is a girl he figured she'd prefer it. And he's right.

But what about boys?

I asked my boys for their top 5 movies.

Little Prince's Picks (5 years old)

  1. Wreck It Ralph
  2. The Incredibles
  3. Toy Story 3
  4. The Lego Movie
  5. Ice Age Series

The animated movies are great but what about an older child?

Big Prince's Picks (10 years old)

  1. Star Wars 3
  2. Lilo & Stitch (he's a big Stitch fan)
  3. Rio 2
  4. The Simpsons The Movie
  5. The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Although Big Prince likes the animation he seems to prefer the 'real people' movies.

Both boys have seen these movies hundreds of times; The Incredibles is worn out because it's been used so much. I love Toy Story 3 and Shrek (original), and The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a great film for children transitioning to real-action movies.

What are your children's top picks?
Let us know your great recommendations and we will check them out!

  1. I think you're safe with anything Disney Pixar, my little ones faves are Toy Story and Cars. He likes The Lorax too #PoCoLo

    1. You're right, Disney Pixar are brilliant at what they do. The Lorax is a favourite of mine (I even sing along to the intro!).

Thanks for stopping by and commenting Rebecca, I appreciate it. xx

  2. These are all great films - and great for any age (big kids included!). Grace loves the X Men series - we just watched X Men First Class again this evening and I really enjoy it. Thank you for linking to #PoCoLo :) x

    1. Personally I love the Disney Pixar movies but the older ones are good too. I haven't seen X Men First Class, I guess I ought to. I'm sure it's one BP would like. :)

  3. My youngest is 10 too and he likes the Johnny English films for their slapstick humour. Worth a watch if you can put up with Rowan A (I couldn't stand Mr Bean but don't mind these).

    1. We have those films and you know I never thought about them when BP asks for another movie. I'll have to keep that in mind now, I think he'd love them. Thanks for the tip! :) (I wasn't so keen on Mr Bean either.)

  4. We're only really getting into films...the only ones that N (aged 3) will happily watch are Rio and Jungle Book. I've got a stack of Disney awaiting him
