Post Comment Love 11th - 13th January

Happy New Year! Post Comment Love, and Stephanie and me, are back after our break and are hoping you've got some great posts in store for us.

How was your Christmas and New Year? I've had a brilliant break, and actually had a few ideas which I hope to make a reality soon, but the break was wonderful. I purposely stepped away from my computer - I haven't touched in 2 weeks! It was good to just step away and do the things that aren't "work", like playing games, opening the boys' new gifts, and spending time together as a family.

Post Comment Love 11th - 13th January | Is your 2019 looking bright?

We had a good few days when we didn't need to do anything at all and it was SO good. Not having to go to a supermarket or visit anyone was so nice and the boys enjoyed not having to go out because it meant they could play Fortnite the whole time!

But now it's back to normal, the boys are back at school and I'm back in my room every day tapping away on the keyboard. I have plans and you may see one or two changes here at Morgan's Milieu, but know I'll still be here telling you to grab that hot coffee while you can!

Bring on 2019 - I'm ready for it!

Do you have any big things planned for 2019?

Blogger Showcase Gabrielle from The Opinionated One Blog

Who are you?

Post Comment Love 11th - 13th January | Meet Gabrielle from The Opinionated One Blog...

How did you discover blogs/blogging?

Writing has always been a great outlet for me. I was a journalist for a year and a half before I became a PR associate. Both of my jobs call for writing, but its nothing compared to writing about things I have experienced or things I love. A blog was the first thing that came to mind when I wanted to share my experience and opinions.

Why did you start blogging?

Blogging was a great way to relieve stress and communicate my thoughts with words, videos, and photos. I started blogging to share my opinions (hence the name of my blog), but it has evolved into writing about things I think other people would find useful or interesting.

What do you find most challenging?

I think the most challenging thing about blogging is gauging the ever-changing readership of your blog. Someone could stumble across an ad you placed about your blog and decide to check it out, or you could have a dedicated readership that look forward to your specific niche blog posts. I always want to make sure my content is engaging and will attract as many readers as possible, but content needs are always changing!

What is your favourite topic to write about?

I have really been enjoying writing about lifestyle blogs. These include my monthly favorites, ideas for dates, and tips for other bloggers. I also really enjoy writing about my religion, Christianity, as it serves as my way of telling others about my faith without shoving it down their throats.

Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

Both! I love to use my blog to vent, have a discussion, or offer advice. It really is fun for me, especially challenging myself to do things I normally wouldn't do like tackling a difficult recipe or trying to understand runway trends. With all that being said, I do hope to monetize my blog at some point, but it is difficult. Why not get paid for what you love and have fun doing?

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

I love connecting with other bloggers via social media and seeing what they have to say about my content. The blogging community has been good to me, and everyone is so supportive. That would have to be my favorite thing.

Have you ever attended a blogging conference and if so, what did you think?

I've never had the chance to attend a blogging conference, but I've attended several seminars on topics that bloggers must know, such as social media and post reach. I've enjoyed attending these and think they are worth the time and registration fees!

What are your 3 best posts?

This is my favorite because I loved cooking all of the meals and desserts to get the photos. My husband loved it too!

This is one of my favorites because I feel I was able to finally explain what I was trying to say about my anxiety. I feel like I was really raw and opinionated, not really caring if it offended people that were gestured to (no names).

I like all of my "Investigating the Mysterious" posts because it is rare that you'll see a Christian blogger talking about oddities like these. I like diving in to paranormal and murder cases to share all the information I can find in research. The Amityville series spurred my interest in horror, so I wanted to do some research and was surprised by what I uncovered.

Describe yourself in three words.

Passionate, Dedicated, Funny

Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

I love coffee and cake. My favorite coffee would include hazelnut creamer and a dash of sugar. I love lemon cake in the summer and apple cake in the winter months!

What's your idea of a perfect night out?

Lots of fun with friends. For myself and my friend group, this normally means heading to an event like trivia night, a movie, or a comedy show!

Your perfect night in?

My perfect night in includes my bed, a good Netflix recommendation, and dinner in bed!

What would your friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

My husband says that my best quality is my rationality. He says I take into account all points of something before I make a decision.
