The best places to eat in Walt Disney World Theme Parks

Finding a good place to eat when you're on holiday can seem like a daunting task when there's so much to choose from. It's definitely like that in Walt Disney World theme parks. But you're in luck, because I've visited the parks lots of times, and even though things have changed over the years I know some of the best places to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks.

It's easier if I arrange this list in park order, so we'll start with my favourite park...

Epcot

Spaceship Earth at Epcot with mickey mouse and minnie mouse hedges in front of it. Find out the best places to eat in Epcot, one of Walt Disney World theme parks.

There really are some amazing places to eat in Epcot, the World Showcase gives you lots of opportunity to try out different foods and there's plenty to choose from. Here are our favourites:

Garden Grill Restaurant

The Garden Grill is a "family style" restaurant, this means you get a selection of food just brought to the table and you eat what you want. You can order more of anything you like and spend as much time as you need eating. Your children will love the Garden Grill because characters come to your table to say hi!

Mickey Mouse, Chip 'n' Dale, even Pluto, will stop by your table so you can say hello and get some lovely photos with your favourite characters. They're brilliant. Do expect to be interrupted while you're eating - they come around all of the tables and do expect you to stop eating while they say hello - but let's face it, if a Disney character comes to your table you're going to stop eating!

I have my favourite salad in Walt Disney World at the Garden Grill, their cob salad is amazing.

Electric Umbrella

A quick service restaurant where you sit in a canteen style area. Electric Umbrella has a good selection of quick food including chicken nuggets and a brisket sandwich. The food is always of good quality and if you're after somewhere quick to eat but still want some awesome food Electric Umbrella should definitely be on your list.

In the past we've enjoyed some awesome sandwiches and I remember a meatball thing that the boys really loved. Electric Umbrella is a handy quick service restaurant and it's indoors too so you get the benefit of that air con!

Food is not just eating energy. It's an experience.

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

Via Napoli in Italy pavilion at Epcot - one of the best places to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks.

We discovered Via Napoli, located in the Italy pavilion in the World Showcase, last time we visited and managed to squeeze it into our schedule twice! If you're in the mood for some amazing Italian food Via Napoli is where you need to be.

From tasty spaghetti bolognese and lasagne to some truly wonderful pizzas Via Napoli is sure to have something you'll enjoy. The staff are helpful and informative and will help you decide if you're struggling. I seem to remember the pizzas being quite large, so you may want to share.

Biergarten

Biergarten in Germany pavilion at Epcot - one of the best places to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks.

Located in the Germany pavilion of the World Showcase Biergarten is a buffet style restaurant with entertainment. You sit at communal tables (you may end up sitting with other families) and can get up to get more food whenever you want. You help yourself to as much food as you can take, and I can tell you you may want to go to Biergarten when you're hungry.

With the menu including soups, salads, rotisserie chicken, and traditional sausages you're sure to find something you'll enjoy. There's plenty of food to choose from and there's beer too. Now I have never tried the beer, I'm not a beer drinker, but I have it on good authority that the beer is very good.

What I love most about Biergarten is the entertainment while you eat. There's a show while you eat and the actors and musicians will have you clapping along and smiling as you enjoy your amazing food

Tepan Edo

A tower in Japan in Epcot World Showcase, featuring Tepan Edo, one of the best places to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks.

You can find Tepan Edo in the Japan pavilion and it's one that needs to be top of your list!

Another restaurant where you get entertainment while you wait, but this time it is right at your table in the form of a chef cooking your food right in front of you!

Inside Tepan Edo, one of the best places to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks. A chef cooks food at the table.

You'll see brilliant knife work, tricks with your food, and after all that the food is amazing. You can choose steak, prawns, or chicken, all with or without noodles. All of it is cooked in front of you and the chefs are always entertaining.

If you happen to take younger children to Tepan Edo I would suggest seating them at the corners of the table, this is recommended by staff too, because that's where it's most difficult for them to touch the hot plate that is built into the table.

I would highly recommend booking a meal for Tepan Edo as soon as you possibly can because reservations can be hard to come by. You can usually make reservations up to 180 days prior to your visit.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop

Now this is probably very British of me but you can't beat good fish and chips and being in the England pavilion of the World Showcase this Fish Shop is brilliant.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop in England at Epcot, one of the best places to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks.

It's a quick service place and you can only get fish and chips (plus desserts and drinks) but I highly recommend it. If you get a minute you should grab fish and chips and then head into the garden nearby where British Revolution can be seen playing - they're definitely one not to miss!

When the Hubby and I get a night out on our own on holiday we love to go to Yorkshire County Fish Shop for chips, then we head to France and grab a baguette with ham. We then go back to the England Pavilion, and watch British Revolution play while we eat our ham and chip baguette! It's one of our favourite nights out and I'd highly recommend it!

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is a large park, and sometimes it can be easy to miss the food places around the park. But again I'm on hand to help you find the best places to eat in this theme park.

Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe

A quick-service restaurant Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe has THE BEST burgers. All you have to do here is head up to the counter and order your preferred choice from the options given. There are different counters for the different foods i.e. burger counter, chicken counter, salad counter.

We always love the burgers from the Starlight Cafe but be warned, it can get very busy. If you're trying to eat at lunchtime (around 12 midday) the lines can be long and you'll find it difficult to get anywhere to sit and eat your meal. I would suggest eating a little earlier or later than you would normally, the queues tend to be shorter then.

Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant

Another quick-service restaurant Tomorrowland Terrace is where we found the best Lobster rolls we have ever eaten. I cannot wait to go back here to see if they still have the Lobster rolls. I will be highly disappointed if they're not selling them anymore.

The menu varies here I think, so you can never be sure what's available but if you get a chance to try the Lobster roll, do - it's AWESOME!

Cinderella's Royal Table

A good restaurant, with great food, and your little ones get to meet the Princesses! We've been to Cinderella's Royal Table a few times but they were quite a while ago. My boys aren't that interested in meeting Princesses these days but I have no doubt this is one the girls (or any fan of princesses) will love.

I remember the food being very good, I seem to remember a fantastic soup with fantastic bread.

Again Cinderella's Royal Table is a restaurant that gets booked up quickly so do try to get your reservation done before you visit.

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios has some brilliant places to eat, they're a little different and you can get some amazing steak.

The Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios - which also features some of the best places to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks.

Hollywood Brown Derby

The steak at the Hollywood Brown Derby is so good. Whenever we go here I order the steak because I know it will be cooked perfectly, nice and succulent inside but with a crispy outer. Just how I love it.

If you're thinking of booking a meal at Hollywood Brown Derby I'd recommend checking out the Fantasmic! dining package. If you book for Hollywood Brown Derby you can get preferred seating for the Fantasmic! show. Again you definitely need to book this one ahead of time.

PizzeRizzo

I think this is what used to be Pizza Planet, you order food downstairs and there's a brilliant play area with arcade machines nearby to keep the kids busy. At least that's how it used to be, it's been a while since we visited so I'm not sure if the arcade is still there.

The pizza is really good from PizzeRizzo, in fact the last time we had it we said it was probably the best pizza we'd had in our entire trip. The pizzas may look small but the base is thick and they're very filling, I'd recommend sharing if you don't eat a lot.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant

You know those old movies where Americans would sit in their car and watch a movie on a big screen outside? Well this restaurant is just like that, but with the benefit of indoors air con. You sit in a car with a table in the middle and can watch an old movie on a big screen at the front of the restaurant. It's something a little different and can be quite fun.

Animal Kingdom

Walking around Animal Kingdom can be quite tiring and finding somewhere to sit is a necessity. Knowing where all the best places to eat are puts you at an advantage, so here we go...

Harambe Market

Head to Harambe Market for some excellent food - it's one of the best places to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks.

A quick-service place where you can find sausage on a naan and chicken skewers that will keep you fuelled for the rest of the day. Harambe Market is a great place for a quick stop between rides or to grab a meal before heading off to more excitement in the park.

It does get busy at meal times, so be prepared for waiting, or go a little earlier.

Tusker House

Do you want to meet characters while enjoying a tasty meal? Tusker House is for you! Join Donald Duck and friends in the buffet style restaurant. Tusker House is a brilliant restaurant, particularly if you have picky eaters. With buffet style restaurants you simply take what you like, or want to try, and it doesn't matter if you don't eat it. You pay the same price regardless. There's always plenty of food to choose from including breakfast waffles, pancakes, sausages, and more. Tusker House is available for booking for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and I'd highly recommend you book.

If I have one addiction in life, it's probably food.

Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes

If you're looking for food with an asian twist then head to Yak & Yeti, the food is so good! You absolutely must try the Honey Chicken and the Teriyaki Bowl, which are both good. We tend to go the cafes because it's quicker (they're quick-service) but it does get very busy and it can be difficult to find somewhere to sit and eat. There are lots of tables outside but because it gets busy these get used up quickly.

Blizzard Beach

Blizzard Beach in Walt Disney World - one of the best places to find somewhere to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks.

We don't often eat at the water parks because we tend to spend a morning there and move on, but when we do it's always good to know where to go right?

Lottawotta Lodge

With choices of rice bowls, burgers, or shrimp rolls, there's plenty to choose from. The burgers are great, and after a morning of water related fun they really hit the spot. It's outdoor eating, but because you've spent time in the water it's not too hot, at least for a while, and you can always dip into the bathroom for some air con!

With so many choices it can be difficult to settle on just one place to eat, even for someone who's been lots of times it's a touch choice. But having our list of the best places to eat in Walt Disney World theme parks helps us make the decision when it's needed.

I hope this list helps you make your decision.
