Post Comment Love 6th - 8th April

Welcome back to Post comment Love - we're back after the Easter break and can't wait to get reading your brilliant posts! Have you written something you're particularly proud of this week? Link up and Stephanie and I will pop over and read, comment, and share.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter, it was lovely to have a long weekend with my boys and we had a great time. We spent a lot of the time walking - something we all need to do in preparation for our holiday in the summer. On Easter Sunday we walked into Nottingham along the River Trent to go to Barburrito (review coming soon!). When we got into the city centre though we noticed all the shops were closed and wondered if it had been a wasted trip - fortunately when we got to Barburrito it was open - yay!

We celebrated LP's 9th birthday on Wednesday too. He had friends around to the house and I spent a day with the craziness of having 4 9-year-old boys racing around my house! It was lovely though, despite the constant bickering, LP loved having his friends over and had a great birthday. I can't believe he's 9 years old though, time has really flown.

With the boys at home I'm having trouble focussing so getting any work done is difficult. I'm having to shut myself in my office and hope there's no fighting between the boys. That's part of the problem with working at home, it can be difficult to get things done during the holidays. I'm powering through though, I'll do it - as long as the kids behave! They're off school for another week yet so things won't quiet down for a while - but that's okay, I can't really say it's a bad thing that they're off school. We're getting lots of family time and spending a good chunk of time walking.

Well that's it from me this week, how has your week been?

Blogger Showcase Katelynn from Hampers and Hiccups

Who are you?

I'm a 20-something mama of 2 beautiful babies - Sweet Girl & Pip. I'm married to my best friend & love of my life. Together, we live on an acreage connected to my husband's family farm near his tiny home town (literally 25 people). We are very strongly community minded and rooted down where we grew up. Striving for a simpler way of life, we garden, preserve, reuse + upcycle (partly because we're young and broke!).

How did you discover blogs/blogging?

I've always read blogs that I came across on Pinterest. I've tried to start my own a few times before, but the timing was never right for me. Now I'm a SAHM and feel I have more valuable content to offer to help others. One of my closest personal friends started a blog a couple of years ago - she was my inspiration to take the leap.

Why did you start blogging?

I was feeling a need for a creative outlet, as well as a way to help other mamas and families learn how to get back to simpler ways and be more environmentally conscious.

What do you find most challenging?

Getting viewers to my site. It takes a lot more work than anyone realizes to make it in the blogging world.

What is your favourite topic to write about?

That's tough. I love all the topics I write about. Homemaking + parenting are probably the easiest for me, with sewing close behind.

Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

I'm working towards some goals and having fun in the process!

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

The connections I'm making now. At first I was trying to promote everything on my own. Now that I've found linkys I've had some real conversations and feel more a part of a community.

Have you ever attended a blogging conference and if so, what did you think?

No, but I'd love to one day!

What are your 3 best posts?

Describe yourself in three words!

Unique, Resourceful, Determined

Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

Totally tea. I've never had coffee and likely never will!

What's your idea of a perfect night out?

Relaxing away from the kids for a few hours. Or, if I'm with my best friend, getting up to no good!

Your perfect night in?

Popcorn, maybe a game, some movies (although I always fall asleep), or reading

What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

Honesty
