Post Comment Love 10th - 12th February

It's Friday, which means it's time for Post Comment Love. Link up your best/favourite post of the week and let others read, enjoy, and share. We've built a great little community here so why not join with us and get a few extra views.

Well, I'm still playing catch up this week. My office is no more sorted than it was last week... okay that's a lie, I managed to get some furniture moved out and it does look slightly better but there's just so much stuff to sort out that it might take a while.

Add that to the fact that it's half term next week and the boys are off school today and I'm a frazzled mum. I've been trying to get things ready for next week, without much success, as well as planning for my new hobby, card-making.

For years I've said that I'm not a crafty person and don't particularly enjoy making things. Over the last couple of weeks I've enjoyed making a card and have a few ideas for other cards too. I have most of the equipment I need and actually it's a lot easier when you have the right tools. Who'd have thought it right?

The other thing is that it's therapeutic, concentrating on creating something beautiful and blocking everything else out helps my mind relax. I spent yesterday sketching ideas on the iPad and have a list of cards I'd like to create.

The funny thing about this new hobby is that it fits in with my words for the year. Thanks to Michelle Reeves I settled on two words to focus on for the year; Create and Nurture. When I first saw the word create I wasn't sure what it was I'd be creating, perhaps just blog posts, but it seems that this year I have found a new hobby that I enjoy. And as for the Nurture, that word is running through everything I do at the moment. I'm nurturing my new found love for crafting, I'm taking time to think about blog posts and make them count, I'm even spending more time with my children which is always a bonus.

  • If you nurture your mind, body, and spirit, your time will expand. You will gain a new perspective that will allow you to accomplish much more.

I'm hoping to have my office sorted out by next week and I'll post some pics then (as long as there's some good light!).

Are you prepared for half term? What do you have planned?

  1. Hi Morgan, I hate taking on tasks like sorting things in the house, it always seems so daunting at the start, but when it's done it is so worth it. I never thought of card making as an ongoing hobby, but how lovely to be able to give someone a card crafted by your own fair hand?

Have fun next week with the boys.... Just noticed the change in PoCoLo badge. Will change it in my list later.

    Thank you for hosting.

    1. Thanks Debbie. I hadn't thought about the card-making until very recently but I'm enjoying it a lot. It may even turn into something more than a hobby! ;)

  2. I'm definitely not crafty! Enjoy the half term and thanks for hosting

    1. Haha! That's what I thought. ;)
Hope you and your girls have a lovely half term. xx

  3. Thank you for hosting this great party! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

I am co-hosting a couple of link parties myself this week. If you have time, I'd love for you to join the fun at my place. ;-) No pressure, of course!

    1. Ah thanks for the heads up Marci, I'll take a look. :)

  4. I'm not crafty at all. I'd like to be though so I guess there's nothing stopping me! #PoCoLo

    1. Exactly. I thought I wasn't crafty but it turns out that I just needed to find the thing about crafts that I enjoyed. I don't like doing kids crafts, I'm really not good at that, but the cards are therapeutic and I feel like I'm actually achieving something. :)

  5. I can't wait to see your office when it's all done. I supposed to love making cards and could happily spend hours in Hobbycraft checking out all the supplies. Somewhere along the line I stopped but all my old tools (stamps, cutters, embossing tools etc) are still in the loft. One L is older I'm going to get them down for her as something we can do together. You're right about it being relaxing because focusing on that seems to clear your mind somehow.

    1. That sounds so lovely. I went to Hobbycraft a few days ago (with the boys in tow) and I could've spent hours in there (and spent a fortune!). I hope L enjoys the crafts as much as you did. xx

  6. Can't wait to see the office when it's done! :)

I've been wanting to get more creative this year, but I've got an art block that I'm trying to force my way through! #PoCoLo

    1. I feel like I've been teasing about the office pics for ages. I really must get some done!

I always find that going for a walk through a forest or something helps with creative blocks. ;)
