Post Comment Love 12th - 14th July

Welcome back to another Post Comment Love. That must mean it's Friday again and the weekend will be here in a flash. Why not join Stephanie and me in our little linky, where we welcome all bloggers, all topics, to share with others. Open every Friday throughout the weekend.

It's been another strange week for me. Hubby went away to Germany on Sunday for work for a few days and he got back late on Wednesday night. Or rather early Thursday morning. It's weird having him away so soon after him starting work but it's kind of familiar too. He used to travel a lot with his old job (more than 10 years ago) and I had a similar routine. It was still strange not having home every day though.

I'm still getting used to the new routine, and I'm not sure how long it will take to get into it. It's unsettlingly quiet in the house sometimes, I'm just glad I have my HomePod and Siri to keep me company!

I've also got LP hurrying to grow up too. He's just got a phone which means he is allowed to walk to school on his own - and he thinks it's AMAZING! He's walked on his own all week - no school runs for me. Again, it's a strange turn of events that I'm still trying to get used to. It's a transition I've known for ages is coming but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with. Now that LP is walking to school on his own it's only a matter of time before he turns into "Kevin, the Teenager". I mean, he's still a few years from hitting his teens but I can see it coming and I know the transition takes a long time. BP is almost 15 and is only just starting to show signs of being human again.

So things are all change at the moment. And I've got the summer holidays coming up so I've got to learn how to deal with the kids at home the whole time on my own. Hubby will take some days off but I can't expect him to be there all the time anymore.

Next week is a little more settled, it's the final week of school for BP and LP has just a few more days after that. Hubby has a fairly normal work week. So it's the first "normal" week we've had since Hubby started work. Unless something changes in the mean time!

Are you ready for the summer?

  1. So many changes in your household, Morgan. Children do grow up and become more independent, don't they? It's a good thing that they do, but sometimes it makes us wistful for the days when they needed us just a little bit more! :)

    1. You're so right! Yes, lots of changes but we're coping okay so far. It's hard to watch them grow up sometimes, but also I'm so excited for them!
As much as I miss them being babies (I NEVER see babies any more!) I can't wait to see where their lives take them. :)
