New handbags for Spring

I have always had a thing for handbags, I have a number of them in my wardrobe and would love to have more. When the sun comes out and the new season begins I can't help scanning women's handbags and noting the ones I particularly like.

I love luxury handbags in particular, from Louis Vuitton to Fendi, but I can't justify paying the prices they charge, unfortunately. If we were rich I would have a room just for handbags and wouldn't worry about buying another one for the collection, but at the moment I have to stick with the cheaper ones.

A couple of years ago, after attending Britmums Live 2016, I came across a handbag company that doesn't charge the earth for their luxury handbags. They're called Village England and their bags are gorgeous! I stood at their stand at the conference and stared at the lovely handbags.

I've been meaning to write about Village England for a while because they have a great selection of handbags and they're oh-so-stylish. I spent a little time browsing their website the other day and came up with a list of handbags I love.

Fashion fades, only style remains the same.

Cranleigh in red

The Cranleigh is a cross-body handbag that can be worn both across the body or on the shoulder. The red is so vibrant it would add a 'pop' to any outfit and the stirrup detail adds that extra something. It has one leather trimmed phone pocket and a zip pocket inside. It's a small handbag, measuring 18cm (height) x 24cm (wide), so probably wouldn't be good for a mum who carries a lot around with her but would be perfect for that night out. Taking this handbag out for date night, an evening meal, even a night out with the girls, would have other women green with envy. A gorgeous handbag costing £150, now I know that's a lot for some, and it's definitely not a handbag you'd throw around, but if you're after a luxury handbag for your nights out but don't want to spend a fortune this is the one for you.

Mayfield in brown

I love this colour! It's so subdued yet stylish and I can imagine it going with any outfit from office wear to a night out with the Hubby. The Mayfield is slightly bigger than the Cranleigh, measuring 22cm x 30cm, has one zip pocket and two phone pockets inside. It also has the same stirrup detailing as the Cranleigh. Another thing I like about this handbag is the zip fastening, I always find zipped handbags easier to get into and out of, especially when searching for my purse!
The Mayfield is actually reduced at the moment and you can grab this handbag for £136.50, but hurry as there's only 2 left.

Beamish in blue

How much do you love this blue colour? The Beamish is bigger again, measuring 36cm x 36cm, perfect for the mum that wants to carry the kitchen sink with her but still look super stylish. It has two ways to carry, shorter handles and a detachable shoulder strap, great for those that like to change how they carry their bags. Inside you'll find one zip pocket and 2 phone pockets but with the Beamish you also get 2 zip pockets on the outside too. I find outer zip pockets super useful and like to keep my keys and lipstick in them. On the website it looks like the handbag has a magnetic fastening but I can't be sure without actually seeing one. The Beamish costs £295 and is also available in taupe, black, and khaki.

If you look back in history of the women who are most memorable and most stylish, they were never the followers of fashion. They were the ones who were unique in their style, breakers of the rules. They were authentic, genuine, original. They were not following the trends.

Hempstead in white

The Hempstead measures 20cm x 32cm but is slightly deeper than the Beamish. Instead of the 2 outer zip pockets it has just one but I'd still find it useful for my keys and things. With one internal zip pocket and 2 phone pockets again there's a place for all your essentials and the detachable shoulder strap means you have a choice of how to carry it. The bright white of the Beamish is perfect for spring, brightening any outfit. The Hempstead costs £195 and is available in black, snake (OMG!), and blue.

Eton in white

I cannot tell you how much I love this handbag. The Eton, measuring 24cm x 33cm, is zip fastening and has two outer zip pockets (for keys and lipstick of course) like the Hempstead. Whenever I have a zip fastening handbag I feel like my things are more secure yet easily accessible, perfect for a busy mum. In white it's lovely and bright for the spring but is also available in black if you'd prefer a darker version (I'd love it in blue too but they don't do it in that colour). It has two phone pockets and a large internal zip pocket. The Eton costs £250 and I am adding it to my Christmas list (or birthday, anniversary, just-because present list).

Edenfield in taupe

The Edenfield is another large bag, perfect for those carrying the kitchen sink or those that want to stay stylish while travelling. It measures 29cm x 31cm, is zip fastening and has two disguised outer zip pockets, one on the front and one on the side. Inside it has a large zip pocket and a double phone pocket and features a detachable strap too. The Edenfield is reduced right now and you can grab one for £195 (reduced from £275).

All the Village England handbags listed above have 100% leather outer and 100% cotton lining.

If you want a luxury handbag but don't want to pay more than £1,000 then Village England is a great place to start, they have a great selection of handbags from tote bags to clutch bags. You could spend a long time simply admiring the handbags on the website!
