Things that will take your breath away in Walt Disney World

There's one thing for sure - going to Walt Disney World is an amazing holiday, nothing beats it. One of the reasons it's such an amazing holiday is there are so many things that will take your breath away. From seeing Cinderella's Castle for the first time to watching spectacular fireworks fly above that same castle you'll be sure to leave Walt Disney World with lifelong memories.

After numerous trips you would think I'd be getting bored of the place but there's no way I could ever bore of the magic that Walt Disney World offers. If you're looking for reasons to visit here are just a few things that will take your breath away...

Meet your favourite characters

Your kids can meet Olaf or Elsa and Anna, there's Mickey Mouse and the gang, and even classic characters like Snow White - and they're all waiting for you to come and say hello!

Be sure to look out for Storm Troopers!

In special locations all over the parks you can meet characters and there's lists of where you can find the character you most want to meet. You can even go to restaurants and have the characters come to your table - The Garden Grill is great for this, the boys got to meet Chip and Dale, Pluto, and Mickey Mouse. Seeing your teenaged son jumping up so he can have a photo with Mickey Mouse is sure to take your breath away!

Fireworks

Every park has an evening show and they are each spectacular in their own way. In Magic Kingdom you can see the castle morph as wonderful fireworks light up the sky all timed with music. In Hollywood Studios you simply must see Fantasmic! which is a show featuring Mickey Mouse, with lots of fireworks. And check out Epcot's firework show - IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth - it's an amazing show and there's limited opportunity to see it because it's changing at the end of 2019.

Each of the firework shows will take your breath away and you'll be marvelling at how they manage to get such a brilliant show timed so well with the music. Oh, and your kids will love it!

Frozen Ever After

Even if you're not a Frozen fan this gentle kids ride is sure to take your breath away. See the Frozen story played out as you float in a boat around Arundel. Watch as Elsa sends her magic around the castle and see Olaf dance as he shows you the way to go! Do not miss this.

Avatar Flight of Passage

One of the newest additions to Animal Kingdom is Avatar Flight of Passage - an immersive, thrill ride that will take you into Pandora. You get to ride on the back of a Banshee as it flies around Pandora, you can actually feel the Banshee breathing. You will see some truly stunning scenes and when you finish the ride you will wonder how on earth it felt so real.

I have never been on a ride that felt quite so real. From feeling the Banshee's chest move as it breathed, to getting splashed in the face with the sea as the Banshee flew over high waves. Avatar Flight of Passage will take your breath away and leave you wanting more.

Hoop De Doo Musical Revue

Want a show and dinner that will keep you entertained the entire time you're eating? Head to the Wilderness Lodge Campground where you'll find Hoop De Doo Musical Revue, an entertaining musical show that will have you laughing so hard you'll find it hard to breathe. Actors dance and sing on stage while you eat your meal, occasionally including you in the show too, and I have no doubt you will laugh so hard your cheeks will ache.

Things That Will Take Your Breath Away In Walt Disney World | Hoop De Doo Musical Revue will surely take your breath away from all the laughing!
So, so entertaining - Hoop De Doo Musical Revue is a MUST see!

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

This one is more for the kids but when you see the amount of candy on offer for you to just go around and pick up - it is breathtaking. While the party gets busy and you'll likely see lines for the candy you're sure to have a good time and the kids will think it's amazing. Your kids can dress up, something they encourage, and you can dress up too - something they usually don't allow. Be sure to take extra bags with you to hold all the candy you'll inevitably get when you go to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Plaza Ice Cream Parlour

If you or your kids like ice-cream be sure to head to Plaza Ice Cream Parlour in Magic Kingdom. You'll find it at the end of the street on the corner - and be sure to bring your appetite. With such things on offer as the All-American Sundae and Mickey's Kitchen Sink Sundae (yes, it's actually in a sink!) you'll get your fill of ice-cream here.

It might not look it, but this was more than enough for four of us!

For the first time in 2018 we visited the ice-cream parlour and we weren't disappointed, in fact despite only having two sundaes to share between the four of us we still couldn't finish them!
