This week we've been getting back to normal after half term. The boys are back at school and we're back to routine, which is always nice. I've enjoyed being organised over the last month or so, so it's nice to be back to it. Walking into a clean kitchen in a morning can make such a difference to my mood.
I've even kept on top of my washing mountain!
As you know I enjoy drawing and I've been putting together activity booklets and using my drawings as illustrations for the book. I've just made my Christmas Activity Booklet available and if you'd like to see me create my drawings I've got one or two videos over on YouTube, but here's my Christmas Chimp...
I experienced something I've read a lot about over half term - the mum taxi. You see up until now I've not really had to take my boys anywhere apart from school. BP has never been very sociable so doesn't attend any after school clubs or out of school outings with friends. I mean, he does sometimes but when he does he catches the bus and meets his friends in town. However, over half term LP decided he wanted to attend a sports club for three days of the week. While it was great for him to go out and have fun with children not from his school it was like driving to school and back those days. Not to mention his karate lesson on Sundays and then friend's parties too. I think we worked out I'd done 11 trips in 5 days. Now I know for some that doesn't sound like much but for me that's a load!
The whole mum taxi thing makes me realise that with LP being more sociable than BP I should probably get used to the fact that I am now the mum taxi as well as everything else. But that's okay, it's what us mums do isn't it?
