Post Comment Love 30th November - 2nd December

Welcome back to another week of Post Comment Love - the one where we enter December! Can you believe it? Join Stephanie and me for this week's linky, we can't wait to see what you've got in store for us.

December tomorrow - how did that happen? It seems like I blinked and it's nearly Christmas. The funny thing is that because December 1st is on a Saturday the boys will get to see me putting up the Christmas decorations - they're usually at school when I do it. BP isn't that interested to be honest, but LP can't wait. He's already asked if there's anything he'll be able to help with and he's excited that we're getting ready for Christmas. It's times like this that I get reminded he's still quite young. At 9 years old he's super excited for Santa's visit (yes he still believes) and he's putting together a list ready to send.

Most of the time LP is quite grown up, he's even started offering to do me and his dad drinks (cold drinks) so that he can help us, and when I'm cooking dinner he often asks if he can help. It's lovely, he always wants to help.

It's been an interesting week parenting wise because we've noticed BP taking quite an interest in programming (coding). He does Computer Science as one of his options for GCSEs and up until recently he hadn't shown any interest in programming but just recently he's spending more time doing it at home. He's taking what he's learning at school, what his teacher talks to him about, and sometimes even things he's seen in class (like a timer), and bringing it home to try to create something. The other day he showed me how he'd created a timer. It sounds a really simple thing but if you'd seen his screen it was all gibberish to me and I was impressed. It's fun for the Hubby too - him being a programmer - because they can talk about things they're doing and they understand what the other is talking about. BP has even asked for help once or twice. I love that they can bond in this way.

With all the stuff that's going on in the world, Brexit, terrorist attacks, etc, it's nice to be at home and see some truly wonderful things happening.

Apart from the Christmas decorations it will be nice to have a lazy weekend. We're often so busy at the weekend and it's nice to have a few when you don't have anything else planned. It won't be long before that's a thing of the past!

Do you have a fun weekend planned?

Blogger Showcase Loretta from Messy Mama

Who are you?

My name is Loretta and I am a Mama blogger. My website is http://messymama18.com. I am a new mom of a six month old. On my page, I talk about my new adventures as a mom and everything I'm learning along the way. My passion is writing, which is why I have started my blog. I am currently working on my first novel.

How did you discover blogs/blogging?

I started blogging for myself about 5 years ago. I didn't have a niche and I basically wrote about everything and anything. I was very naïve to the blogging world and never went beyond posting here and there. A few months ago I came across a blogging how to workshop and it changed my life. I got serious about blogging, picked a niche, and I have been spending more time trying to build my brand and get my blog out there.

Why did you start blogging?

I love writing. It is my passion. I am currently working on a book but there is no immediate satisfaction with it. With blogging, I get to put my words out there and improve my writing. I would love to turn it into a business.

What do you find most challenging?

The consistency of writing and trying to find different topics to write about within my niche. Also, reaching an audience. I just started and I know becoming a successful blogger doesn't happen over night, but the wondering about if I am ever going to get to that point is constantly on my mind.

What is your favourite topic to write about?

My favorite topic to write about is my experiences as a new mom and what I am learning through out all the stages of motherhood. I am hoping to inspire new moms like me.

Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

Both. Like I said before, I love to write. I am also hoping to build my blog into a business in the future. Right now I am focusing on learning about blogging and putting myself out there.

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

Being able to write periodically and putting my pieces in front of an audience. I am also falling in love with the little network that I have been building and the bloggers I have had the pleasure of connecting with. I am a stay at home mom, and I love it, but its isolating. Having a network of like minded people is refreshing and inspiring.

Have you ever attended a blogging conference?

No, but I would like to.

What are your three best posts?

Anxious, Mom, Sarcastic

Tea and biscuits or coffee and cake?

I like coffee and I like cake

What's your idea of a perfect night out?

Date night with the husband at our favorite restaurant and maybe a late night boardwalk near an ocean with a beach bar.

Your perfect night in?

Movie night with my husband and daughter

What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

I'm artistic.
