How to get a much-needed rest at Disney's Hollywood Studios

While Disney's Hollywood Studios is a small park when compared to the others you still find yourself in need of a rest during your day. There's only so much walking around you can do right? So below you'll find ways of getting the much-needed rest at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

Given that Disney's Hollywood Studios is all about the movies (or TV) then you won't be surprised to learn that Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is all about the stunts. You get to see the stunts performed and then get to see how they're done. There's a chance to get involved yourself by raising your hand when the director asks for "help" during filming. Whether you want to get involved or not the show is entertaining and at 30 minutes long it's a great chance to sit down for a while. The show can get a little loud, and there's some fire too, so it might be a good idea to keep the little ones close so you can comfort them if they get scared.

The boys were lucky enough to get chosen to introduce the show on stage back in 2013, LP was too young to remember but they both did a brilliant job and it's a memory I will treasure.

Because the show is outdoors there's a chance it will get cancelled due to inclement weather, but there are various shows throughout the day so if you miss one try to stick around for the next. The theatre where you sit, while covered is outdoors in the Florida heat - I'd recommend taking a drink into the show with you to stay hydrated.

Muppet Vision 3D

Sit down in a 584-seat theatre after watching a 12 minute pre-show in which Gonzo, Rizzo, the Rat, and Scooter frantically prepare for the big show, in Muppet Vision 3D. Grab your 3D glasses, sit in your seat, and watch Kermit and Miss Piggy put on a show for you. Things don't quite go to plan, (do they ever with the Muppets?) and soon there's chaos. Enjoy the tricks, the jokes, and of course Waldorf and Statler are there to heckle!

The camera looks up at Muppet Vision 3D at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World. A hot air balloon is tethered to a clock tower on the right, it is coloured red on the bottom half and orange on the top half, it has Kermit the Frog's face on the front of it too. People walk across the front of the theatre, in front of the camera. A black lamp post stands to the left of the photo. The sun is shining down on the building, white fluffy clouds are dotted in the sky.

The Muppet Vision show is a great chance to get out of the Florida sun and into an air conditioned building for a while. You're protected from the sun and the heat and it's nice to get a good sit down, even if you haven't done lots of walking around.

Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage

Like Finding Nemo at Animal Kingdom this is a 25-minute broadway-style show following the story of the movie. See songs such as "tale as old as time" performed live on stage and watch Beauty and the Beast dance. While the theatre has 1500 seats it does get busy so be sure to get there early - the show is outdoors, it's covered so you won't get rained on but you are sitting outside in the Florida heat so it's a good idea to be prepared for that, perhaps by grabbing an ice-cream before the show starts. Your entire party will enjoy this show, even those that aren't bothered about the princesses, there's something for everyone.

Take it with you so you’ll always have a way to look back … and remember me.

Fantasmic!

A floating platform sits atop a darkened lake at night. On the sides of the platform are lights arranged in the form of roses, the lights are red for the rose and green for the leaves. Standing on top of the platform is Beauty and the Beast from the Disney movie. They are dancing. Image for "How to get a much-needed rest at Disney's Hollywood Studios".

An evening show that is sure to entertain everyone in your party Fantasmic! is brilliant. The 30-minute outdoors show has princesses, villains, and fireworks as well as familiar music. You'll see some amazing water effects and watch Mickey Mouse perform magic on stage just for you. Seating begins 90 minutes before the show starts, and it's on a first-come-first-served basis (unless you have the dining package) so be sure to get there early if you want a good seat. The times we didn't have the dining package we've ended up standing up at the back of the arena to watch the show, which means no sitting, so no rest. There is the possibility the show could get postponed or cancelled due to weather because it's outdoors - but if this happens Disney do their best to help you see it next time.

With Disney's Hollywood Studios not being as big as the other parks it's easy to get around without needing much of a rest, however there are a few places for you to sit and enjoy a show if you need (or want) it.
