Post Comment Love 17th - 19th March

It's Friday again and that means it's Post Comment Love time again. Link up your best or favourite post of the week, read fab posts from other bloggers, and maybe even make new friends. If you're new here, welcome! It's lovely to see new people linking. And if you're a regular it is so great to see you linking week after week, Stephanie and I really appreciate it.

So how is it Friday again already?!

The weeks are flying by, before you know it the kids will be on their Easter holidays and I'll be shrieking because there's no time for anything! I've got LP's 8th birthday coming up at the beginning of April and he's making requests, which is good in a way because then we don't have to come up with ideas ourselves and not know if he'll like it.

I've been putting extra effort into the blogging thing this week, I'm trying to make it a habit so I'm forcing myself to do things. It's difficult to begin with, especially when you're not inspired, but I'm making the effort to write everything down and stick to my plans. I just have to keep going and it will soon become something that is just second nature. I hope!

  • The chains of habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken.

Well we had a bit of an emergency on Wednesday. While on the school run the Hubby called me to say the new shower was leaking. I spent the next hour trying to get in touch with the plumber, and we had to turn the water off in the house. I found out the plumber was on a day trip with his family and he had to cut it slightly shorter than he'd expected to come and fix the problem. Wednesday evening ended up being rather stressful and the plumber was at our house until after 9pm. He did manage to fix the problem, thank goodness, and hopefully that's the end of the issues, but boy it was stressful.

I'm looking forward the weekend, it's a busy one but it's the weekend and there'll be at least some relaxing.

How has your week been?

Blogger Showcase Laurie from Vanity and Me

Who are you?

Hi. I'm Laurie, I'm 53 years old. More of a nanny blogger than a mummy blogger! I have eight grandchildren. A Hairstylist and Beauty therapist since leaving school.

How did you discover blogs/blogging?

I discovered blogging after reading a fashion magazine. I was intrigued straight away and started looking for blogs to read.

Why did you start blogging?

I wondered if there was a gap for mature fashion and beauty bloggers. Not being PC literate at all, I thought it would be a good challenge.

What do you find most challenging?

All of it! I had never sent an email before and found it really hard to start with. But in the long run, I would say time and organisation are the hard bit. Photography is also something I'm trying to understand!

What is your favourite topic to write about?

Fashion and beauty. If a reader finds any of my tips helpful, my job is done!

Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

I blog for fun and the new challenges it brings. I have also made some good friends through the blogging community. I do earn a few pennies and I don't have to buy so many clothes which is a bonus. I will just plod along and see where the blog takes me.

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

It has to be the blogging community. As I said I have made some really good friends. The help is always there when you reach out. Plus the satisfaction that I get when a reader tells me something was helpful or inspiring.

Have you ever attended a blogging conference and if so, what did you think?

I have attended one blogger get together and I loved it. I look forward to attending more.

What are your 3 best posts?

My Derma rolling post created quite a lot of interest

The JD Williams fashion show Purely because it was such a memorable day for me.

Everyone seemed to like this Poncho post

Describe yourself in three words!

Myself in three words
Unorganised! Shy but helpful and friendly

Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

Either! I have to make my own though due to my allergies.

What's your idea of a perfect night out?

I'm always in my local with the OH on a Friday night. Chilling and chatting with friends. I can only drink water or tea ( I have multiple allergies) So restaurants are out for me. A good film and a bit of chill time goes down well too.

What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

My mother would say I'm a great organiser! I can organise a fairly large workspace, just not myself! Hardworking and a Diva would be the third!
