Post Comment Love 15th - 17th September

Welcome back to another week of Post Comment Love - can you believe we're in the middle of September already? Link up your best post of the week and Stephanie and I will be sure to send some love your way.

Boy is playing catch up difficult! I'm running behind on my #pocolo reading so I apologise to you for that. Spending the summer with my boys was amazing but it does mean that my reading and writing suffered. As a consequence I'm spending a lot of time with my fingers racing across the keyboard and my eyes scanning words on a screen. I'll get there eventually.

You would think that with the boys being back at school it would be easier to get into a routine but it always seems to take a week or so to settle down. I'm still trying to get the house sorted after the insane summer and my washing mountain has reached epic proportions. But again, I'll get there eventually.

I am glad for the peace. I enjoy being in my room and thinking about plans for the blog and other things. A couple of times over the last few months I've had bright shiny ideas that pull my focus and while they're brilliant ideas they do tend to fade after a while. At the moment I'm putting my hand to crafts again, I want to be able to create beautiful keepsakes for people. I have been terrified of starting this project, I'm so afraid of failing. But at the end of the day what's the worst that can happen? I could be completely rubbish at crafts and give up - but that's it. So why am I so afraid?

On Tuesday I took a few steps towards being able to create my first "masterpiece". I bought the things I'll need and as soon as they arrive I'll be planning it out before diving in and trying to make it. Have no doubt, whether I make it or I fail epically, you'll hear about it!

Wish me luck.

Blogger Showcase Jess from The Queen is in Town

Who are you?

My name is Jess, I'm 24 years old and from the middle of Europe: Luxembourg. I love makeup and books. But also good food and that's what I blog about most.

How did you discover blogs/blogging?

I discovered blogging by "bookblogs". People were writing reviews or posts about their favorite books and I figured I could do that as well ... but with nail polish. That's how I first started: nail polish swatches haha

Why did you start blogging?

I started because I wanted to show people my collection. I've had a few new and nostalgic ones and I wanted to show how they actually look in daylight. Then I started with other beauty posts as well.

What do you find most challenging?

The most challenging for me is to come up with good blogpost ideas. Sometimes I could write 4-5 posts in one day and sometimes I don't have ANY topic to talk about. I also find it hard to work with brands cause then I always want to make everything perfect. From the pictures to the writing to how I promote it. Sometimes I get drawn into it and only think about that and get stressed out.

What is your favourite topic to write about?

My favorite topics are make up and food. I love doing hauls, reviews and first impressions on my blog.

Are you blogging for fun or do you have goals?

I've always been blogging for fun. I just want to share my thoughts about everything and maybe find people who think the same.

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

The best part is that you can try out new things. If I bought a new eyeshadow palette and basically NEED to use all the shadows, see how they blend, even try some combos that I'd never wore. I also love taking pictures for it, finding the right light and angle to make it work. It's the creativity that I love about blogging.

Have you ever attended a blogging conference and if so, what did you think?

I've never attended any blog conference or meet up. It's just hard for me to find the time.

What are your 3 best posts?

My best posts are usually hauls, empties and pan that palette videos. They always work out great.

Describe yourself in three words!

Creative, funny, hard working.

Are you a tea and biscuits or coffee and cake person?

How about tea and cake? ;)

What's your idea of a perfect night out?

My perfect night out would consist of good food and then maybe a movie. Doesn't really matter though as long as I'm with the people I love.

Your perfect night in?

Probably the same thing. Combined with lots of laughter.

What would your best friend/OH/mum or kids say is your best quality?

I help everyone. Take that as good or as bad as you want.
