Perfect Proposals, Wonderful Weddings, and more

A few weeks ago I wrote a post about marriage proposals, it started out as a simple post but after turning to blogging buddies for their stories the post transformed. I loved writing it, but I loved reading others' stories so much that I decided to do a proposal series. An interview style post where you answer questions about your proposals and tell your story. So today, sharing my own story, I'm introducing Perfect Proposals.

But that's not all.

Exiting Engagements is a chance for those who aren't yet engaged to share their idea of the perfect marriage proposal.

And Wonderful Weddings, where I ask about your wedding, how the day went, what the weather was like, and everything in between.

If you're interested in sharing your story with me, whether it's your perfect proposal, your exciting engagement or your wonderful wedding please do get in touch with me via Twitter, Facebook, or email.

How long have you been married?

I have been married for a little over 9 years, we'll be celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary in June.

Tell me your engagement story. Where were you? How did he ask? What was your reaction?

I wrote about our engagement story previously, we were in bed at night chatting about the day and he asked if I was happy. I was, without question, happy and I couldn't think of anything that would've made me happier. Of course I was wrong and when he said "What if we got married?" tears welled in my eyes and I felt like all my dreams had come true.

The man I loved was telling me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and I, of course, wanted to spend my life with him.

Were you expecting a proposal?

Absolutely not. I had no idea he was going to ask me.

And the ring?

The Hubby didn't present me with a ring when he proposed, he wanted me to choose it myself so he took me shopping. We went into the jewellers and I had the lady show me all kinds of rings. In the end I chose a simple, yet elegant, solitaire diamond on a platinum band. The ring is so me.

Did you have a honeymoon and if so where did you go?

We did. Luckily the in-laws looked after BP for a week so that we could go to Mexico. It was an amazing week and I will always love Mexico. I went scuba-diving (a first), I went on a jet-ski, had massages by the sea. Memories from that holiday will stay with me forever.

My engagement story is a simple one but I love it, it's who we are. We like a quiet life, we like to be together, and it worked for us.

I'll be sharing my Wonderful Wedding story soon so be sure to check back.

If you'd like to be featured in Perfect Proposals, Exciting Engagements, or Wonderful Weddings do get in touch, I'd love to share your story too!

  4. Ah that's a lovely story and a great idea for a guest series. I love engagements like that to me they are the most romantic - I know that might sound silly but it is so heart felt and genuine it makes my insides smile. Thank you for sharing it at #familyfun xx
