Post Comment Love 9th - 11th September

/ by
Welcome to another week of Post Comment Love, it's September and the boys are back at school. Hands up - who is both relieved and sad?

The quiet, being able to drink a hot coffee in peace, just sitting, these are all things I've enjoyed this week. It's quite a change to the hectic days of the summer holidays, and in some ways they're just as hectic but the craziness is confined to mornings before school. The boys have enjoyed their first week back and they're both loving seeing their friends every day.

I'm back to my morning routine, which is lovely. My washing mountain is reducing (but the ironing pile is growing), my kitchen is clean and tidy, and the lounge is respectable. Every morning I get up and tackle my chores, by 8am it's all done and I can tackle something else. I hope I can stick to this routine but only time will tell, it's rather tiring getting up at 6am and starting on chores straight away. But at the same time it allows me to concentrate on the blog during school hours.

What I've learned over the summer and the last few weeks is that routine is everything. Lists help too. I have a list of chores, a list of blogging tasks, a list of food to cook for the family, a list of food to buy, lists, lists, lists. Having lists has allowed me to keep track of what I'm doing, what is left to do, and how I'm getting on with everything. I know we're only a week into the routines again but I'm feeling positive. The weekend will be the test - if I can keep it up over the weekend I'll call it a win.

Are you back in a routine yet?

Last week we asked you to send us a photo that summed up your summer and I'd like to say thank you to everyone who sent us a photo, here's what I came up with...

Congratulations to Sophie and hubs I hope you had a truly wonderful day. It looks like the rest of you had a pretty awesome summer too; ice-cream, camping, beaches, and outdoor walks all look like perfect summer activities. Let's hope the summery weather continues.

And the lovely lot that sent us photos are:

Karen (@IsntitprettyKTB) - Two Tiny Hands
Sophie (@MamaMei) - Mama Mei
Jayne (@SMABLblog) - Sticky Mud and Belly Laughs

  1. I hope for you it's a win Morgan. I work part time, and since blogging, I find it hard to keep up with all the regular duties ! I need to find the right recipe for organisation! More list's is a good starting point. Thank you for hosting x

    1. Thanks Laurie, lists are a great tool. I hope you find the right organisation for you. x

  2. Ooh yes I'm a list girl too! I keep my lists on my phone so that I always have them with me if I think of something that needs adding. But... it's a nightmare if the battery dies! Haha!

    1. Haha me too! My phone is my lifeline - if I lost it I'd be completely lost myself!

  3. The routine is definitely needed... the last week or so of the holidays is always the hardest, so near yet so far and the children feel it more than we do! So glad you can sit back and relax a little, everything is somewhat getting back to normal now... thank heaven's for school! Thank you for hosting and allowing me to link up this week's #FridayFitBit - slightly more controversial than normal! ;) Sim xx

    1. Indeed Sim, thank heavens for school! Thanks for linking. xx

  4. hehehe! It's nice being able to have a clean house for a few hours at least while the kids are at school...I'm all about the lists too. They do help so much!
Oops! I forgot to send a photo in for the Summer Photo Collage....It looks fab as it is though :D
    Thanks for hosting x

    1. Thanks Kim, never mind about the photo - maybe next time. x
      Thanks for linking. xx

  5. I do love a good list! I was hoping the first week back I would have been able to get into a bit more of a routine but it hasn't quite happened so far as I'm still playing catch up with all the jobs induct get done during the holidays. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for next week!

    1. I totally know what you mean Alana, it's always catch up time the first week or so isn't it? Thanks for linking. x

  6. I'm a big believer in lists, probably a bit too much. Hope the boys had a good first week

    1. Thanks Jeremy, they did have a great first week back. x

  7. I've not got time to link up this week, sorry just stopped by to check out the phot collage! love the icecream face. Wish that was my face everyday! x hope to join you next week x
