After last week's slight loss I'd been feeling brighter again, it's always nice when that happens because you feel like you're not wasting your time.
There's no more loss this week, but like I've been saying for weeks I'm being careful about the things I'm eating. I'm reducing my portion sizes (which means I'm hungry all the time!) and am cooking fresh meals more often.
In the last few weeks I've been cooking things in a bag, and I think they're a lot healthier than having fried chicken or chips. I do cook the occasional treat though, usually in the form of pasta bake or spaghetti bolognese.
The Hubby and I have started enjoying fresh salsa with Ciabatta bread for lunch too. It's super tasty and I can't believe that we're eating it most of the time. I think it's healthy, at least healthier than popping to our local KFC!
I'm really not sure what difference, if any, this kind of monitoring our food will make but I certainly feel better about the food I'm eating. And today I'm trying out my new slow cooker. I've seen so many people say they're brilliant so I took the plunge and bought one. Our dinner is cooking right now, beef and tomato casserole - I wonder how it will come out?
Anyway enough about food, I'm starving!
My morning routine has returned and I'm burning calories from the moment I get up. This is obviously a good thing and I'm hoping at some point to clear out my room so I have space to practice yoga. My back ache has returned and I know that when I was doing yoga I didn't have any problems. I really must make the time to do some yoga, even if it's only 30 minutes.
I'm in a funny kind of mood lately, I want to lose the weight but I don't mind either way. I know that doesn't make sense, I'm half-heartedly trying to lose weight and aren't making the effort required to push it further. Sometimes I wonder if it's because bigger things are going on at the moment, our family is still learning to surf the waves of life. Losing weight is low on the priority list right now.
I'm not about to give up on it though, I'll continue eating healthier foods and hopefully will make a small dent in the huge number of pounds I have to lose.
Slow and steady wins the race right?
