Stop Thinking and Start Doing

I skipped writing about my weight last week, I didn't weigh myself all week and pretty much ate whatever I wanted. I'd given up.

But over the past few days I've noticed a few things about my body and how I feel and I've realised that I can't let myself off. It's time to stop thinking about it and start doing.

My weight today was 11st 12.5lbs. This is unacceptable.

My steps are about the same as they have been for the past few weeks. Pitiful.

Here's the thing though, I'm not going to dwell on it, I'm just going to get on with rectifying the problem.

Before I lost the weight I had knee issues that meant I couldn't run far, and they're back again. My left knee screams in complaint whenever I run upstairs. It's obviously under too much pressure because of my weight again. Any time I try to walk a little faster my knee hurts but I can't let it get to me.

My stomach has been complaining lots too. I don't feel well, I'm lethargic most of the time, and I don't have the energy to fight.

These are big red warning signs that I need to pay attention to.

I need to stop eating all the chocolate in the house.
I need to do exercise, even if it's only 20 mins of yoga.
I need to pay attention to what food I'm putting into my body.

I've already taken the first steps in doing something. This morning, instead of coming home after the school run and making myself a coffee I got a pint of water. I had one slice of toast for breakfast, I'm hungry, but I won't snack.

I'm going to be drinking more water and less coffee. I'm going to cut down all the bad stuff.
I may even keep a log of my exercise, perhaps that will encourage me to do it.

Hopefully next week I'll have better things to report.

  1. Oh lovely, sorry to be reading this only now have been so busy this week. Have you thought of doing different exercises as running is causing problems to your knee? How about swimming or some classes at the local leisure centre? I might have something for you, cannot reveal yet, but thinking of you. Ditch the snacking, stay strong and soon you will be back on the track! #FitnessTuesday
