Health and Weight Loss Tips 20

It's Bank Holiday Monday and all I want to do right now is go out for lunch and scoff a giant burger. But I won't.

The kids stayed at my sisters this weekend to give us some much needed time off. As a consequence alcohol (namely bourbon) and pizza played a big part in our weekend.

After the over-indulgence (and naps in the afternoons) I'm feeling sluggish and not very healthy. My steps count has dropped, even though the Hubby and I walked into Nottingham on Saturday. It's pretty much the only exercise I've done recently.

Not good.

I said last week that I'm finding it hard to stay motivated, or even get motivated. I wake up in a morning and don't feel like going for a run, I'd rather sit in front of the computer and blog. I think my coffee intake has increased too, and if I'm honest it is having a negative impact on me.

So it is time for me to kick myself up the bum and DO something. Get out in the fresh air, stop drinking too much coffee, and cut down on the things that I know are bad for me. I need to cut my portion sizes again, they've crept up of late.

Tip: Take Action

There comes a point when you notice that things aren't going well and it takes a lot of will power to take action. But that is what you NEED to do.

You control what you eat, what you drink, and paying attention to your body and how you're feeling can make a huge difference.

I am going to take small steps back towards a good routine. Starting with my portion sizes and the type of food I'm eating. This weight has got to come off and I know what I need to do to achieve it.

The time has come.

  1. I know that feeling :-). I’ve had that same feeling for too long too and have in the past seven days focused on doing something about that by taking action, eat better and move. Wish you all the best for this week. With love Pea x #BloggingToJogging

  3. It's amazing how quickly that sluggish feeling can come back isn't it! Whenever I have a blip, be it a single day or a whole week, I just try not to beat myself up about it and move on. Weight loss is difficult so take it as slowly as you need to.

Wishing you lots of luck getting your good routine back, you can do it!

    1. Thanks Kate, it is really tough to get that motivation back after a slump. The most annoying thing is I know I can do it, but aren't! Saying that, this week has been better. Thanks for your encouraging and kind words.

  5. Our portion sizes yo-yo too. I always find the summer better as it's warm and you don't eat so much. Not sure if we'll get the hot weather this year though. You're right it is up to us #bloggingtojogging

    1. I agree, I find it easier in summer too. I love eating salads when the sun is shining, so that's gotta be good! Winter is evil, out comes the stews and pies, and weight-gain is inevitable. xx

  6. It sounds like you've got a good plan there, small steps equate to big changes! I'd recommend walking around the Beeston campus of Notts uni, I felt like I'd run for miles the other day haha Thanks for linking with #BloggingToJogging xx
