Health and Weight Loss Tips 2

Here we are for week 2 of my health and weight loss series and there's been no progress.

Morgan's Milieu | Health and Weight Loss Tips 2: Badge

After the birthday celebrations over the weekend my weight has taken a serious hit.

11st 4.7lbs

Since last week I've put on 2.1lbs - not good. My excuse is that I spent the whole weekend not dieting. It was my birthday on Friday and we took the boys to stay with their Nan for the weekend. I consumed lots of nice food and alcohol - my waistline took the hit.

The pic below sums up how many steps I did through the week.

Monday was okay, but I didn't do my usual walk. I had lots to do, taking Christmas decorations down and such. Not a great start to the week. Tuesday was much better, I walked with a friend in the morning and did more walking in the evening. Although that was when we walked to the curry house - not sure that was a good thing either!

Wednesday was not a good day, no walking (I don't remember why). On Thursday I made myself go on the treadmill. I ran for 1.2 miles and it hurt, I haven't done it for so long my legs had forgotten how. No walking on Friday, it was my birthday so I had the day off.

Saturday the Hubby and I went to London and walked around. We spent most of the day walking. Good day!

Sunday not so good again. I was so lazy I did nothing, we even had pizza for dinner. *hangs head in shame*

I'm not surprised at the weight gain. I ate bad food and I drank alcohol all weekend. Not a great start to the new health kick.

But you know what? I loved every minute. I always knew this weekend would be bad. I'm just lucky that I did a lot of walking, I may have put on more weight if I hadn't.

This week's tip:

Don't punish yourself for a bad week/weekend

Okay so it's been a bad week, instead of letting that weight gain bring me down I'm just going to keep going. Today is that start of another week, in which I fully intend to behave. No bad food, no alcohol, more exercise.

Dwelling on the bad is never a good thing, it brings your mood down and makes you want to eat. Try as best as you can to move on, concentrate on the next milestone or give yourself a new target. Mine is to shift the weight I've gained (the 2.1 lbs) and this time next week I'll be smiling after a fab week of weight loss.

Check back next week to find out.

    1. Thanks Vicki. I think it's fine to allow yourself the chocolate sometimes, we can't be angels all the time. :)
